How are you suppose to feel at Fifty. Tired, worn out, bloated, complacent? Those words certainly don’t describe me at all. I am 56 and I feel more alive today than when I was 30. That’s why I am Feeling Fabulous at 50. Everyday I am asked how do I manage to look so young and have so much energy. Its the lifestyle I live…. and I didn’t do it overnight. Its been a process since I was in my mid 20’s. The lifestyle includes, exercise, food, transformation and God, and not necessarily in that order. What I’d like to do here is to share all the I have experience and know personally with the world in hopes that I can make a difference in someones life.
I have been teaching fitness classes since the 70’s and am very passionate about it. I have taught so many different venues since. But today I teach Zumba fitness. Have so for 6 years now. Its amazing how that class affects people. In all my years I have never seen such big smiles on people faces when exercising. The class not only burns 600 to 800 calories a class but it releases endorphins, the happy hormone. People walk away feeling great because they had such a good time. So I invite you to find a Zumba class in your area and go experience it. You will be glad you did. Check out this link and see:

Find a fitness class that you can really enjoy and look forward to going to; it will take you on the path of feeling fabulous.
PS. When you do find a class, let me know what you think. I’d love to hear about it.
Feeling Fabulous at Fifty
Hi Linda:
You are fabulous at fifty and counting!!! I am so happy to have you in my life and to be able to learn from you what it is like to live a passionate, healthy, and happy life. Thanks for publishing!
Linda, I love the new blog. Thanks for sharing your wealth of information with the world!!! Love you girl! Faith Winder
Thanks for the support! It’s very welcome and appreciated. I feel more confident now than I did when I was in my 20/30s. I’ve always gone up and down on the scale but had healthy habits in place like getting plenty of sleep and drinking plenty of water. I certain don’t look my age and when I am out with my grandkids, they are often mistaken as my own children.
I am loving my life at this point in time. I am training to run the full Detroit Free Press Marathon and everything I do in my life, I do for me. When I am happy the rest of my family is happy. And so it goes!
Thanks again, for the boost. I truly needed at this point in time.
Linda,
I would like to get your opinion on bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. I am in flux right now. I am working so hard and I love the feeling I get from it. But the change to my body isn’t happening like it used to. My niece, who is in her late 30’s, recently underwent bio-identical treatment and ended up losing 70 lbs. I’ve read up on them and recently made an appointment with my ob/gyn. My d.o. has recommended since I’m definitely perimenopausal, but for me, the jury is still out. What do you think?
Terri, I did the whole Bio-identical hormones after my hysterectomy. It was great. I had to decided what I thought was best for my body (there are so many things available). I went thru my doctor, a D.O., and used a Compound pharmacy (I had it in cream form). I first tried a low dosage and worked my way up from there until I found the right dosage that worked for me. My doctor and I worked together on this. The symptons I experience during menupause was weepiniess and nights sweats mostly. I didn’t have hot flashes at all. The Bio-identical hormones really helped with it. Bio-identical hormones are molecule-by-molecule, exactly the same as the hormones (estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, cortisol, dhea, estradiol and estriol) present in the human body. Thats why I choose them. BUT along with the Hormone therapy integrating proper nutrition and fitness is important. So yes, It helped me to feel fabulous! Linda, Feeling Fabulous at Fifty
